Episode 13 - with guest Ryan Kirsch
Saturday Apr 21, 2018
Saturday Apr 21, 2018
I have shared many important memories and even more important beers with Ryan Kirsch in many different places throughout North America and Europe. Ryan has traveled thousands of miles to have the distinction of seeing Agalloch more times than anyone outside the band or crew. So, naturally, he and I became friends. On this episode Ryan and I share music and discuss French Black Metal and how horrible Chinese food in Estonia can be.

Tuesday Apr 17, 2018
Russell Mikow not only shares a name with my dear departed Chihuahua Miko, yet regrettably spelled differently, he also runs Red Orchard Records out of Olympia, Washington. Russ came down for record night and I invited him to stay a little longer to share some music with me and chat about Australian bands, Oi music and snare hits.

Episode 11 - Part 2 with guest Ramin Hosseinabad
Saturday Apr 07, 2018
Saturday Apr 07, 2018
Speaking with Iranian born metal head Ramin is such a pleasure we couldn't stop at our usual time limit, so we just kept recording, and drinking. Apparently Ramin's perspective is one that fascinates as his Part 1 is the most downloaded epsiode yet and has garnered this podcast a lot of attention. This second, and last portion of our discussion, features a few more beers, and some barley wine, and yes of course, more metal.

Episode 10 - with guest Ashley Spungin (Insect Ark, Taurus)
Friday Mar 09, 2018
Friday Mar 09, 2018
Ashley Spungin is a very unique and undeniable force. She has been a part of bands such as Purple Rhinestone Eagle, Taurus and Insect Ark. Ashley makes noise generating oscillator pedals, she drums, and she is an all around bad ass. Her album "Marrow Hymns" by Insect Ark is out now on Profound Lore Records, and she joined me for jokes and chats about music, touring and as always, we shared music.
Closing track "Sea Harps" by Insect Ark.

Episode 09 - with guest Ramin Hosseinabad
Thursday Feb 08, 2018
Thursday Feb 08, 2018
Ramin Hosseinabad was born in Iran. Life for an Iranian metal head is far from easy. Now, Ramin lives in Nebraska and is pursuing his Phd in Materials Engineering at UNL in Lincoln. Ramin and I spoke far too long for one episode, so here is the first part of our discussion. We shared music, talked about growing up in a country where metal music is illegal, and also shared a beer or two.

My friend Casey C-P is the first return guest to "I Hate Music," simply because he infected me with an insatiable desire to consume everything King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard have created. In this episode, we try something a bit different. We listen to King Gizzard's "Polygondwanaland" album in it's entirety and discuss why we love this band, and the repercussions of this love.

Saturday Dec 30, 2017
Saturday Dec 30, 2017
Erik Moggridge is a guitarist and vocalist who is perhaps best known for his solo work under the name Aerial Ruin, but for long time followers of metal you may remember him from Old Grandad or Metal Blade recording artist Epidemic. From time to time, Erik also lends his vocal talents to Pacific Northwest Doom giants Bell Witch and you can hear him on their new epic "Mirror Reaper." Today we shared music, reminisced about sharing the stage and debated traditional metal.
Closing Track "In The Glory of Nigh" by Aerial Ruin.
